This indicator refers to the minimization of negative impacts due to land cover change to which the construction of project facilities (storages, plants) may contribute. The indicator covers legality of the construction activities and change in land cover. Land cover categories, defined as (bio)physical cover on the earth's surface, were taken from CORINE land cover database. These include artificial surface, agricultural land, forest land and wetlands.

Existing facility holding all required permits and licences

Artificial surface planned for construction

Low-quality agricultural land

Medium and high quality agricultural areas, forest areas, wetlands (some construction is allowed)

Existing facility without required permits and licences

Forest areas in national and nature parks, burnt forest areas that maintain characteristics of forest
