Noise Emission Value

Applies to: Biogas Plant

Description:

This indicator refers to the negative impacts of noise emission from plant operation on human health. According to the WHO findings, noise is the second largest environmental cause of health problems, just after the impact of air quality. The indicator compares measured (if available) or foreseen values with the thresholds prescribed by regulations or permits for specific zones.

Questions:

What is the prescribed noise level?

What is the foreseen/measured noise level?

Rating:

Foreseen/Measured values more than 10% lower than prescribed values

Foreseen/Measured values more than 5% lower than prescribed values

Foreseen/Measured values lower than prescribed values

Foreseen/Measured values higher than prescribed values

Following noise limits were defined by regulations and these should be used if no other thresholds were defined for the project (Table 24).
