Plant Cooling System

Applies to: CHP Plant

Description:

This indicator refers to the minimization of water use for the cooling of a CHP plant. A CHP plant can use water or air cooling system. Water cooling system is, in general, used only in plants which are based on the steam cycle. The feasibility of water cooling system depends strongly on the proximity of water source, and its abundance. Other CHP plant systems, mainly with gas motors, predominantly use air cooling.

Question:

Is water used for cooling?

Rating:

Water is not used for cooling purposes

Use of cooling water in the area with sufficient water supply

Use of cooling water in the area with very rare water shortage

Use of cooling water in the area with occasional water shortage

Use of cooling water in the area with insufficient water supply
