Manure Storage Time

Applies to: Manure Storage

Description:

This indicator refers to the minimisation of manure decomposition, GHG emissions from the manure storage and reduction of biogas production potentials. Losses will increase with increasing storage time of manure. In temperatures around 50°C, degradation of biogas potential could be as high as 50% in 10 days.

Question:

How much time is manure stored before inserting it to a digestor?

Rating:

Manure goes to a digestor immediately from housing

Up to 7 days

More than 7 days
