Description:

This indicator refers to the prevention of ground and surface waters pollution by nitrates from agricultural sources. The indicator considers the application rate of organic fertilisers per hectare and whether the production is located within Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZ). NVZ are areas of land which drain into polluted waters or waters at risk of pollution and which contribute to nitrate pollution.
