The indicator refers to the implementation of a Social Management System (SMS) by the company. SMS is a dynamic, continuous process, initiated and supported by management, and involves meaningful communication between the client, its workers and the local communities affected by the project and/or the client’s other activities, and where appropriate, other stakeholders. It requires a methodical systems approach comprising planning, implementing, reviewing and reacting to outcomes in a structured way with the aim of achieving a continuous improvement in performance management.
